Labyrinthe is a custom‑software and applied‑AI boutique. We design, build and maintain bespoke platforms for mid‑market leaders with an ambitious destination in mind — and one partner to walk the path with them, from first conversation to last production release.

01 / Category— What we are, narrowly

A studio that ships.

Not a strategy firm, a systems integrator, or a vendor reseller. Two niches, end‑to‑end, for a small number of clients chosen carefully.

A small studio that does two things — custom software and applied AI — end‑to‑end, for a small number of clients we choose carefully.

The name is deliberate. A labyrinth is not a maze. Mazes have dead ends and trick you. A labyrinth has one path, and it leads to the centre. Clients come to us lost in the maze of AI hype and vendor noise. We draw the path and walk it with them.

02 / Audience— Who we build for

Patient ambition. Global reach.

Industry‑agnostic by design. We select on posture rather than sector — what matters is how a client carries an engagement.

Mid‑market organizations rooted in Eastern Canada, operating anywhere in the world.

Our best clients share four traits.

  1. They know where they are and where they want to go. They give us the middle.

  2. They carry long‑term ambition and can bear short‑term pain to get there.

  3. They want a partner, not a vendor — and they act like one.

  4. They value their own time, and trust ours.

03 / Work— Two things, done well

The work, narrowly.

Every engagement runs the same arc — discover, map, build, ship, maintain. Two niches carry the work, end‑to‑end.

01 — Custom software

Bespoke platforms, built from scratch.

Web, mobile, data platforms, internal tools, embedded systems, integrations. Built from scratch, designed to fit. No templates, no generic admin panels — every interface is a considered object.

  • Web platformspublic.
  • Mobile applicationsfield.
  • Data platformsdecisions.
  • Internal toolsoperations.
  • Embedded systemsmachine.
  • Integrationsseams.
02 — Applied AI

Models that live inside real workflows.

Models, agents and integrations that live where the work happens — not in the demo reel. We build where the value is, often in places most teams would not think to look.

  • Workflow agentsorchestration.
  • Model integrationsservice.
  • Decision toolingsupport.
  • Internal automationvolume.
  • Augmented memorymemory.
  • Evaluation & guardrailsrigor.
— The engagement arc

Five phases. One path.

Start to finish, one team. No hand‑offs, no phase‑two sales pitch.

  1. 01

    Discover

An AI‑augmented intake agent interviews the client about the application. By the time the founder reads it, the brief is sharp.

  2. 02

    Map

We quantify value before we build. The map shows the system's shape, its release sequence, its budget envelope — and the line where software meets applied AI.

  3. 03

    Build

A small team, led by the founder, builds from scratch — designed to fit. We ship on the committed date, and we write code that survives us.

  4. 04

    Ship

Software goes to production. Adoption is measured, documented, handed back in the shape of the system itself.

  5. 05

    Maintain

The last release is not the last conversation. We stay close to the platforms we ship — on retainer, for the clients who want it.

04 / Method— Three principles

Rigor. Craft. Partnership.

Every studio is defined by what it values. Three principles run through every engagement we take.

01 — Rigor

Financial discipline meets engineering quality.

Outcomes are written down before the work starts. We measure ourselves against those numbers — not the hours billed against them. No theatre.

02 — Craft

Most enterprise software is generic. Ours is not.

We care about the interface, the edge case, and the small detail that makes a system feel built for one client rather than ten thousand.

03 — Partnership

Small number of clients, deeply.

We prefer long engagements over short transactions. We do not require hand‑holding, and we do not give it — we meet clients as peers.

05 / Casework— Active retainers, mostly under NDA

Recent work, anonymized.

A small number of clients at a time, deeply. A handful, shown — depth over breadth. The work is described here; the names live under NDA.

06 / Refusals— What we will not do

What we will not do.

A boutique is defined as much by what it refuses as by what it ships. These are ours — written down, so the conversation can start somewhere honest.

No · 01

No third‑party software resale.

Everything we ship is custom‑built. We take no vendor commissions, run no selection processes, and carry no partner logos. The absence is the offer.

No · 02

No pure‑strategy decks.

No recommendations without a build behind them. We write what we ship and ship what we write — same studio, same hands, same name on the door.

No · 03

No mercenary projects.

We are small and we stay small. No one‑off engagements priced to the bottom of the market, no work without a long‑term posture from the client.

No · 04

No generic chatbots, no AI‑transformation theatre.

No vanity pilots that die in procurement. We build the model that sits inside the workflow on the day you count the outputs — or we do not build it at all.

07 / Proof— Applied AI, on ourselves

The client portal.

Before recommending applied AI to a client, Labyrinthe runs it on itself. The portal is the proof.

Clients log into the portal and run an AI‑augmented intake. A specification agent — built on Claude Code, with a strict quality bar — interviews the client, explores the problem, and drafts a ready‑to‑build spec. Clients iterate until the document clears the bar; only then does the founder review, and only then does code get written.

We did not simply buy AI services from Labyrinthe. We bought a way out of the maze we had built ourselves.
